3.5 tonne Box Body, Road & Standby
Introducing the Box Body Van
The SR350/SR351 range of refrigeration systems from GAH offers various options for operators requiring temperature control during the delivery of chilled or frozen goods in 3.5 tonne box body vans suitably insulated with the option of a single phase electric standby.
The high performance system offers optimum cooling capacity for the largest panel vans on the market. The stylish, aerodynamic design utilises plastic covers for the condenser and evaporator.
A vehicle engine driven compressor powers the unit on truck drive. Three hermetically sealed single phase standby options are available. Rotary, Scroll or High Capacity Scroll.
An in-cab controller with digital display monitors and controls the temperature and defrosting whilst providing a constant load space temperature read out.
Features & Benefits
Chill only models are easy to operate with off cycle defrost. Perfect for delivering chilled packaged goods. Chill with full defrost is also available using the "F" models set to chill temperatures.
Freeze models are easily set to the desired temperature down to -25°C. All functions are fully automatic.
Lightweight - approximately 97 kg installed with standby (Non-Standby approximately 73 kg). It can be fitted directly onto a box van with no additional brackets.
Twin fan Plastic evaporator is supplied as standard. A twin fan metal cubic evaporator is a no cost option.
Single phase, hermetically sealed low noise and low maintenance. There are three options, a cost effective rotary, a super quiet scroll or a high capacity scroll. They are very efficient and, since their introduction in 2010, have proven to be very reliable.
All SR350/351 freeze models with defrost can be programmed to run at a specific temperature for instance, set to 5°C and if the ambient is high the unit will cool down to 5°C but, if the ambient is low the unit will heat to 5°C.
Whilst cooling the load space, moisture in the air collects on the evaporator coil. GAH chill units have an automatic, hourly off cycle defrost to keep the coils free of frost. GAH freeze units have hourly, automatic and fast reverse cycle defrost for closer temperature control which allows the unit to cool for more minutes per hour.
Dual evaporator systems are used for fixed freeze/chill compartments with an evaporator for freeze section and a second evaporator for the chill section avoiding cross contamination of air from one compartment to another. Talk to a GAH applications specialist for assistance in selected these systems.

Applications & Compatabilities
Please note these guides are offered as an approximation only. For confirmation and a more detailed quotation, please contact one of our application specialists.
The SR351C is a chill only system, the SR351F is for frozen applications or chill applications where a full defrost is required. The choice can be affected by the product to be carried and the number of door openings per working day and the way the system is used. If in doubt, please talk to a GAH Applications specialist for clarification.
The following assumptions have been made:
- Ambient temperature 30°C
- Chilled ‘K’ Factor is 0.7 W/M²/°C
- Frozen ‘K’ Factor is 0.4 W/M²/°C
- Drop duration is 3-5 minutes
